If you wanted a crash course on humankind’s artistic journey since the Middle Ages, then the Thyssen-Bornemisza is a great place to start. The collection ranges from religious paintings from the 14th century right through to the ’60s pop art of Roy Lichtenstein.

A number of masterpieces are dotted throughout the museum, including Rubens’ Venus and Cupid, Canaletto’s view of Venice’s Grand Canal, and pieces by Dalí, Manet, Picasso, and Degas. On top of all of that, lunch is included!

To access the free wifi, activate your device, look for the “Museo Thyssen Free” signal and fill in a registry. The service lasts for 4 hours. Customers of the cafeteria can charge their mobile devices on request.

Cloakroom:

Free service but visitors must show valid entry ticket to use it.
The following objects must be left: umbrellas, rucksacks, suitcases, large bags as well as other large objects purchased at the museum shop.
For hygiene reasons the following are not allowed: food, beverages, animals nor plants. Neither are clothes and garments allowed during the COVID-19 emergency.
This free service also provides cane-seats (only available during visit to the Permanent Collection), baby pushchairs and wheelchairs available for visitor use. All these objects will be thoroughly disinfected after being used.
